A 50 m2 hair and nail salon. We divided the hair cutting space, shampoo space, and nail space with a series of folding ridges, which transcends the small scale of the salon. The mountain-like sequence of wooden walls became a facade through the windows, and connects to the urban sprawl. The wooden walls are coated with a platinum pearl paint, referencing the shop’s name Blanl’or (meaning ‘white gold’ in French). When light hits this wooden wall, the ridges emerge as if they are shining.
